As the GEO series nears its closure at 100 releases, Priory is delighted to include this superb organ in the Minster at Southwell in Nottinghamshire. This series has been a pioneer of little known or unrecorded repertoire and this release is no exception with probably all the music new to the catalogues. Simon Hogan is the brilliant young organist (assistant at the Minster) and he shows off this instrument in fine style.
"Simon Hogan has put together an interesting and thought provoking programme here. The programme is a big ask for both player and instrument and both acquit themselves admirably. Simon Hogan is a fine player and the considerable technical demands of this recital are met with aplomb. An excellent recording- there is great clarity but also a natuarl warmth to the sound."
