From the days earliest days of recording when Ernest Lough made his famous recordings in the Temple Church in London, this venue has been synonymous with fine choirs firstly under the direction of Sir Walford Davies and then Sir George Thalben Ball. Today the direction comes from Roger Sayer who has maintained this unique choir to the highest standards. This is ably demonstated on this fine new recording with a programme of diverse music and styles.
"This is an enjoyable and varied programme, much sung by the trebles of the choir and when they are joined by the gentlemen of the choir the balance is excellent. The organ solos from Greg Morris are sensitive and impeccably balanced...musically rewarding." 4 stars - Martin Clarke - Organists Review
"The richly voiced young choristers are a joy to listen to- their unison singing nothing short of miraculous and Roger Sayer draws from his singers outstanding phrasing and subtle nuances of tone. Ther cleverly devised programme is a must for any lover of choral singing." Shirley Ratcliffe - Choir and Organ - 5 Stars
