This is the final volume on this highly acclaimed series which is the first time that these wonderful pieces have been recorded in their entirety. It is Priory’s opinion that this survey has been the greatest project in its long history. Stefan Engles has been the ever present organist and the series has featured organs from the USA, Germany, the UK and this stunning final volume from Norway. The CD is split in original works for organ, which concludes the series and some of Karg-Elert’s better transcriptions to round off this unique survey.
"And so this magnificent project is now complete.....this project has fallen to that sterling record company, Priory, to take up the challenge of recording his complete works and bring the series to a remarkably successful conclusion. The result surely deserves the thanks and admiration of all lovers of organ music....Priory deserves all praise for their achievement. Stefan Engels brings this remarkable lifetime achievement to a superb end...a fine achievement indeed." Robert Matthew-Walker - The Organ
"this series is a magnificent achievement which is unlikely to be repeated soon, and enhanced by Neil Collier's consistently superb engineering. Stefan Engels is fully equal to the task; he is so in tune with Karg-Elert's varied musical personalityit's as if he was bornto play this composer. Hear hear! " Malcolm Riley Gramophone
"Engels performs with terrific sensitivity throughout and makes the most of the Nidaros instrument. The high technical quality of the recording is outstanding. Barnaby Page - Organists Review
